The “HBO Camera Assessment Screening 2017” which was held on 2nd November 2017 and organized by SMI at The Metroplex, Kowloon. The house was fully seated by 400 invited professionals. In the screening, HBO conducted a Camera Assessment Series (CAS), covering six most astonishing cameras in 2017 in professional cinematography ranged from ARRI Alexa 65, Panavision Millennium DXL, Red EPIC-W 8K S35, Canon C700 Raw, Panasonic Varicam PURE and Black Magic URSA Mini. In the 60-minute documentary, these machines had been evaluated with fair yet ultimate testing environments with the focus on Dynamic Range, Mixed Color Lighting, Motion, Wardrobe Color & Patterns, Skin Tone and Available Light, providing insights into the imaging capabilities of each camera together with professional, extensive commentaries from Directors of Photography, Producers and HBO Executives on each of their performance.
